[Personality]
Idrial is an elf of Lothlorien and has many of the typical elven traits of this time. Like many other elves of her kind she has a love of and fascination for nature. She feels most at home under forests and woods more than anywhere else in Middle Earth. It is the only place where she can truly feel like herself and it brings back memories of her childhood, running through the trees in her bare feet with the feel of the fallen leaves under her feet.
Idrial serves the Lady of Light, Galadriel and is extremely dedicated when it comes to the tasks the great Lady sets for her. She is also extremely loyal to the Lord and Lady of Lothlorien as well as to all of her kin and will perform any task that they give her to the best of her ability. She follows the laws of her lands strictly and respects the fact that they must be obeyed at all times. She will also go out of her way to make sure that anyone who is not familiar with the Golden Woods and their rules follows them without question. As the Third Age dawns and Sauron grows stronger many of the elves depart Middle Earth in favour of the Undying Lands but not Idrial. She was given the option to leave but she was determined to stay and carry out her duties, even becoming quite stubborn on the matter. This is a trait that she has carried with her throughout her life, her mind is not easily wavered once it is set on something. She cannot leave when there are people still here in Middle Earth that need her help. In this way she is probably quite similar to elves of other breeds as she can be quick to defend herself if she believes strongly in something. However, these are not the only traits that she possesses.
Idrial is very kind and compassionate and does not like to see friends or allies in any distress or pain. As a result of this she always puts her healing powers and knowledge of healing plants and herbs to good use. If she comes across someone that is in danger or in need of help on her travels she will not hesitate in coming to their aid. This is shown clearly in her first encounter with one of her recent companions, Berethor of Gondor. When she first came across him he was being attacked by a party of orcs and she rushed to his aid, killing the orcs and healing Berethor’s wounds. Although she can be impatient when it comes to something she feels strongly about when it comes to her allies and companions she can also be very patient. While Berethor is eager to move forward as quickly as possible she tells him he must be patient and that they must deal with the matter most at hand: healing his wounds, again showing consideration and compassion.
Idrial is an elven warrior among her kind so it goes without saying that she is extremely brave. She had always shown interest in serving the Lady of Light as one of her warriors even from a young age. As a result she was trained in archery and swordplay and is now a master of both. Of course, Idrial does not fight without good reason or provocation but when the need does arise she doesn’t hesitate. She is strong, intelligent, cunning and fast witted when it comes to attacking and having her on your side would be an advantage in any battle situation. On her journey with Berethor, Elegost and others she is an integral member and has proven herself worthy of taking down orcs, wargs, goblins and many more foes.
Even though Idrial is between four and five thousand years old this is considered young for her race. As a result she is not as intelligent as some of her seniors but still impressively so for Human standards. In some ways her youth is shown clearly. For example, although she is quite reserved as all elves are she is optimistic, cheerful and can be quite trusting of people she doesn’t know too well at times. Being young, she also manages to fall in love with her companion Berethor quite quickly. However, she shows her maturity when she decides to let him go, telling him it is Morwen a warrior maiden from Penmark he should love and not her. Although she cares for him she knows that it will never work between them and in this way she shows her maturity despite her age.
[Specialties/Abilities] Any powers or special talents they may have :O
Since Idrial is an elf she will have abilities much greater than humans or most other races for that matter. One of these is the fact that her senses are much more heightened than those of humans. For example she can see and hear a lot further than Men can. As an elf she also will not die of natural causes – the only way she can die is from any life threatening injuries she may sustain in battle.
As mentioned before she was trained how to use a bow and a sword from a young age since it was something she had shown an interest in. As a result she is an expert at using them both to defend herself an others. She can also call upon nature and her surroundings in order to protect herself – such as summoning spirits from water. On arrival to Somarium she will lose this ability to call on nature and summon spirits in this way. He intelligence also helps her when it comes to battles and she plans out the best course of attack within moments. Her knowledge of healing plants and herbs is also quite extensive as also mentioned before and can therefore make healing draughts if the right ingredients are available to her.
[Affection]
Most things would be allowed with Idrial here. She will be wary at first if she does not know your character very well but she's not opposed to affection of any kind.
[Fighting]
Yes please on the fight/injure part! As for killing my character I would definitely be down with it but I ask if you would consult me about it first! Idrial will only fight if she feels threatened in some way or to protect someone.
[Other Permissions]
I am open to a lot of things when it comes to RPing with other characters! Fourth walling with other characters, especially canonmates is probably to be expected so that's totally fine with me! As for anything too out of the ordinary please contact me otherwise have at it!
[Other Facts]
On arrival to Somarium she will lose this ability to call on nature and summon spirits. She will however still have a connection with nature and be able to make medicines from plants found around the area. Upon arrival Idrial will most likely be a little defensive and wary of Som but she'll probably get used to it pretty quickly. Annnd there's nothing else that I can think of right now....
